WHY ISN'T WATER FREE?

Some folk (we’ll name no names but she’s a thrifty granny with a penchant for headscarves and curlers!) ask us why we charge for something that falls free from the sky. Of course, the water itself is free. You’re paying for us to collect, screen, clarify and treat it to high standards and pump it to you. And maintain over 100 reservoirs, 83 treatment works and enough pipework to stretch from York to New York! What do you think? Should water be free? Join the debate - post a comment below.
